Fisker Karma
The new gas and electric hybrid supercars known as the 2010 Fisker Karma has been revealed, designed by Henrik Fisker which was known for designing stunning cars like Aston Martin V-8 Vantage, BMW Z8, and the upcoming Artega GT, shows us that he never did loose his touch in terms of designing exotic car, which was proven by the looks of this new 2010 Fisker Karma, it looks a bit like the combination of all the exotic car designed by Fisker and thus the result is this new Fisker Karma and it is absolutely fascinating.
The Fisker Karma is a 4 door, Rear wheel drive sedan made in Finland and as we said this is a new gas and electric combination supercars, Fisker Karma combines a battery powered electric motor with a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that produces a total horsepower of 403, this exotic car uses the new technology of what they call the Q DRIVE which enables this car to run upto 50 miles using only its electric motor, then after that the Gasoline motor kicks in and turns on a generator which recharges the car's lithium ion battery pack that powers the electric motor which enables it to run 620 miles more, the electric motor transmits directly to the wheels so there are no transmission needed in this exotic car only drive modes in which it lets you choose whether you want to drive this car in Stealth mode which is a fuel consumption mode and pure electric car which is limited to a top speed of 95 mph only, and the other mode is the Sports mode which activates the turbocharged 2.0 liter Gasoline Engine that has a 250 horsepower that charges the batteries extending it to a 620 miles and in this gas powered mode, Fisker Karma can reach a top speed of 125 mph, and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds.
The Fisker Karma is expected to be produced in the fourth quarter of 2009 and would cost around $80,000.
